Stewardship
In the world of the Church stewardship is a Christ-centered spiritual process – a ‘Way of Life’ as it has become known. A Way of Life in which we respond to all that the Church gives to us by giving back to the Church a share of our time, our talents and our financial resources.

From the moment of our baptism until the moment of our death the Church ‘gives’ to us.

The Church through baptism gives us our faith, our belief in God, in Jesus the Son of God, in the Holy Spirit.
The Church gives us through the sacrifice of the Mass the Body and Blood of Christ the grace to foster and strengthen our faith and our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Church gives us the Sacraments to help us to live as God requires of us.
The Church gives us the spiritual basis on how to live day-by-day loving God and our neighbour so that after our death we will be in the presence of God for eternity.
We are blessed to have as our Parish Priest Fr James Ralston OMI - a man who have given his entire life to the Church and through his vocation gives us leadership, direction and counsel to help us to grow in our faith and in our individual pursuit of holiness.
We are further blessed that our parish is also served by Deacon Mike O’Neill - who gives of himself for our spiritual benefit.
The Church also gives us a portal through which we can respond to give to the Church, the portal of: stewardship as way of life. Through Catholic stewardship we make a formal commitment to give a share of our time and our talents and of our financial resources to contribute to the work, the activities, the costs of maintenance of our two Church buildings and grounds of the Blessed Sacrament and Star of the Sea and all the related costs of the Parish.

We are blessed that many of our parishioners so readily give of their time and talents which fosters extraordinary vitality of our Parish. Due to personal and family commitments, not all of us are able to give a share of our time and talents. However, we all can make a formal commitment to donate a portion of our financial resources each month to the Parish through the Planned Giving program.

The amount of the donation could range from today’s equivalent of the widow’s mite to whatever level we individually believe is right and just in context of our personal situation and the needs of our families.
