The Catholic Women's League known also as CWL is affiliated to WUCWO (World Union of Catholic Women's Organisation) and has the approval and support of the Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC)
The League strives to be a sign of hope and love, of harmony and reconciliation, and a sign that people of all socio-economic and cultural groups can be one. CWL seeks to develop leadership qualities and to enable members to take active roles in the affairs of the community.
The objectives of the League are:
To unite Catholic women in their service to God, the Church, the family and the country, under the direction of the hierarchy
To assist with parish work under the guidance of the parish priest
To consolidate Catholic action among Catholic women in defence of Catholic principles
To encourage the formation of strong and enlightened Catholic opinion and the diffusion of Catholic principles
To engage in social welfare activities, such as care of the aged, family welfare and community work.
The CWL meet the third Wednesday of the month after the 8.30 Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church.
